Chicago Run Collective
Chicago Run Collective (CRC) was co-founded by Maya Carducci in May 2024 with a vision to create community through healthy movement and real-life connection.
"New to city living and early in the rise of the social club scene, I quickly noticed how challenging it could be to meet new people. Many already had pre-established circles, and Chicago’s neighbourhoods often felt segmented. I wanted a space where anyone could branch out and connect beyond the city’s bar and nightlife culture. At the same time, I was easing back into running, not training for a race, but for myself, and wanted something fun and social to keep up the rhythm. I envisioned a club that felt welcoming and carried a younger, free-spirited energy."
"With a clear vision inspired by communities in other cities, I shared the idea with a friend, and CRC was co-founded in the summer of 2024," said Maya, who now runs it solo. "Saturday mornings were chosen intentionally, what better way to start the weekend than with the essentials: sunshine, movement, and conversation. CRC welcomes all kinds of runners and walkers, whether chasing a PR, looking for connection, or seeking motivation in a health-driven space. Even four-legged friends became part of the mix."
From eight to over 600 showing up, CRC quickly became a special and welcoming space. Today, it bridges the gap for those new to running while remaining a community where runners of all levels can share miles and a social weekend ritual.
