I spent a lot of time there with my family on a beautiful slope of Batukaru. The setup is natural and architecturally well-done. We don’t really think about what we are going to eat; they harvest whatever is available, mostly Indonesian food and mostly vegan. They definitely have good coffee beans and their own nice blend. The surroundings consist of 10 hectares of coffee fields, and the owners are around all the time. The owner, Kentri Norberg, self-healing cancer survivor, especially spends most of her days in the kitchen. Perfect for a retreat, they don’t provide programs, but you can create your own with your family or friends. A yoga shala is provided, and there are natural pools; just make sure you visit during the rainy season because the river might be dry as well.

One of the few natural pools and waterfalls created by the crates. It can be quite touristy at times but is still considerably less commercial and well-managed. It's best to visit early in the morning on weekdays rather than weekends, and avoid holidays and ceremonial days as it is considered a sacred spot. Bring your swimwear and waterproof protection for your camera, as it can be quite damp and soggy. It’s not very far walking. 

One of the few conservation centers for Lepidoptera, housing both moths and butterflies. They have around 25 species, mainly native to Bali, with almost half of them protected and endangered according to the IUCN. The reason I chose the butterfly park is because it plays a key role in our sustainable future. Don’t expect to see a ton of butterflies; yes, you will see them, but you cannot take pictures with them unless they have just emerged from their chrysalis. There’s also a local water playground and a restaurant.

I curated this place. The owner is Ni Wayan Srilaba and has been in the orcids industry for 25 years, and we are together as a board member of Indonesian Orchid Society. The orchid garden consists of 400 species of orchids and another fifty hybrids that bloom throughout the year. It's an agritourism space where you can find guides and QR codes for self-information. It's advisable to visit every two to three months because the flowering seasons may vary. Peak flowering periods are February-March and August-September. Indonesia is considered one of the richest countries in orchid species and varieties. Here, you'll find most of the Old World orchid species as well as new world orchid hybrids. Arundina Restaurant is a place to go if you want to try East Balinese cuisine, featuring their special dish 'Tipat Blayag' (Chicken Curry), without having to travel to Karangasem. 

I operate this place, established by Blair and Ben Ripple in 2002. It's one of the longest-running horticulture farms, where you can witness the growth of Potato Head’s overview. Sharing the Bali culinary revolution's mission, like Potato Head, we introduce new crops while preserving staples and native varieties. The farm boasts over 250 different varieties. As it's not primarily agrotourism-focused, appointments are necessary, and guided tours may not always be available. The area is dedicated to agriculture production, showcasing a wide array of crops and innovations.

The cave itself, carved by the relentless waves over centuries, offers a glimpse into Bali's natural wonders. Inside, the echoes of the ocean resonate, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection. Don't forget to explore the hidden beach and soak in the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Suluban Cave is not just a destination; it's a journey through Bali's rugged coastal beauty and rich cultural heritage.

Winifred beach has to be my favourite beach its one of the last beaches which hasn’t been bought by foreigners a hub for the community to come and cool af, if you go you must go up to Cynthia’s and get some food just ask for her down on the beach!

Blue lagoon holds a special place in my heart one of my favourite place to swim its hot and cold under and has a magic in the air, if you go down make sure to get a raft trip ask for Beena with the bleached hair and go over to monkey island.

Obviously, I had to put some music-related tings. If you know me you know how much DANCEHALL IS MI EVERYTHING and the best way to keep up with the new music is to get a CD from Junior on William Street.

Boston is the home of jerk. You can’t come to Jamaica and not try it. There are a few amazing places, but you must go to its home, Boston. Go to Mickey's - the first place on the left (if you are facing it). I also always get a chicken sausage from Bumpy as well; you will see him, he is right across.

Corey makes the best fruit smoothies in Port Antonio. He also makes peanut punch with almond milk which is quite rare here, but it’s super yummy. He is based in the back of the fruit market just walk through the shop to the back left corner and you will see him.

This is by far my favourite date night spot. The owner, Vanessa, is one of my good friends and cooks the most delicious food. Get the lobster! Actually, get anything its all amazing !! Also located on Long Bay Beach - you HAVE to go!

Have you ever had a burger with plantain and callaloo? Well then, you must go to Woody's in Drapers. Their burgers are literally so unique tasting and delicious.

If you are going to Rio Grande make sure you head out early as its a full day of rafting. I always drive up and start from Berrydale. You can stop the raft and swim in the river. Also, half way up if you call in advance, you can stop for food at Belinda. She is not there all the time, so you must organise in advance, but I promise you you won’t regret it!

Sanko Bay is a tiny local beach. There isn’t sand, but you can swim and the view is so beautiful. We are currently trying to re-build the community centre situated on this beach to support and give the Drapers community a hub for the locals. We’re also giving free workshops and equipment for our future generation to be able to bloom.

Everyone always talks about Dunn River, but there are so many hidden gems. Reach Falls is much quieter and you can walk down the back of the waterfall where there are holes you can jump through (this will make more sense when you reach). It’s way more chilled and private; take some snacks, drinks & lots of mosquito repellent with you in your bag.

Coconut shrimp curry to die for. Great for any celebration or just a lovely dinner. Make sore you ask the owner to tell you his story and why he set up soldier camp.

When passing Barra da Tijuca there is a reserve by the beach. You have to go by car and when good swell picks up it produces very strong and clean waves in the early morning

A very good place to see the sunset throughout the year, but especially during Summer.

Very good waves to surf, but tough when crowded.

This place is filled with amazing locals, who are friendly and are stoked on life. It has a large beach to do whatever you want and the waves are one of the best in Rio de Janeiro.

In a tricky location so best to follow directions online.

We took a trip to Arisaig, Scotland with MW guiding us to go sea kayaking. The water is so clear it looks like the Caribbean, we kayaked from island to island spotting seals as we went. With the right equipment you can also go wild camping, snorkelling or fishing.

A photoshoot took us walking the Watkins Path of Snowdonia. We were following the river up which twists and turns through many rock pools and waterfalls, the rock pools make the perfect spot to stop for a swim and cliff jumping! The clearest water and easy to access.

Where I am from in Rickmansworth, there are a lot of lakes that you can go sailing on and spots that would be great for wild swimming. I haven’t been back in years but have fond memories. Catch a short train from London and take an easy stroll around them, it's a great spot to go if you just want to be in nature and surrounded by water.

When walking The Old Man Of Coniston, the blue lake is the perfect scene for a mirror lake shot - you get reflections of the mountain behind and the sky, if you can stay till sundown! The colours are so vivid.

There is a lake at the bottom of Pen Y Fan, great spot for a wild swim after a long hike. You can pitch up for the night in the nearby forest and wild camp next to small streams. It’s a waterfall, it’s very beautiful. It’s about a 15 minute walk to get there and it’s great to swim in and hang out, it’s a regular spot of mine. 


A really good spot for food, up in the hills a bit. They do the best coffee and they have the most amazing bread I’ve ever had in my life. They make it themselves and it’s incredible.


It’s a very beautiful, quite calm beach, and a lot of longboarders go there. It’s a gentle wave and incredibly picturesque!

There’s this cafe called Rays there, which you can get a drink at. Overpriced but hey, it’s in a beautiful position.


If you were in town, in Byron, I would say go to Bay Leaf. Really great restaurant with delicious food. 


Another incredible beach, great for learning to surf. It’s really pretty.


You wanna go to Kings if you’re feeling adventurous, it’s a nudist beach, so if you feel like getting naked go to Kings!

Brays and White are incredibly picturesque and quite private.

Haiti 

Haiti is the island of many mountains and Kenscoff is one of the more well known neighborhoods of Port-Au-Prince at an altitude of 6000 ft. The Wynne Farm is a must visit if you are in town. For years they have promoted environmental sustainability, conservation and education, and the views from the property are stunning.

île à Rat is a tiny island in the middle of The Atlantic ocean facing Cap Haitian, surrounded by crystal blue water and fresh seafood caught on order. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in the Caribbean and somewhere I can’t wait to visit again in the near future.

One of the most iconic structures in the Western Hemisphere, the Citadelle is a must see when you visit Haiti. The fortress was built by Henri Christophe in the early 1800s to ward off any future French invasion after Haiti’s revolution in 1804.

Two beautiful beach resorts located an hour and a half from Toussaint L’Ouverture airport in Port-Au-Prince. Whenever I’m in town and want to get to the beach for a few days, I visit Decameron or Wahoo Bay.

If you want a bird’s eye view of Port-Au-Prince, there is no better place to visit than L’Observatoire. This combination restaurant, bar and observatory has been around for decades, and was actually the first place I ever DJ’d!

Did you know Haiti had multiple waterfalls across the island? Now you know. Kaskad Pichon located in the South East Department is one of the most iconic in the country and a must visit if you are in town.

Home to a unique breed of seaweed eating sheep who live on it's rocky-foreshore, this beach isn't neccesarrily one for swimming but it's a place where once a year you can tap into local cutlure and traditions by attending the North Ronaldsay Sheep Festival which involves rebuilding the drystone sheep dyke to prevent the special breed from straying from the shores and eating grass which is toxic to the sheep.

Hope Cove is like a little slice of the Med tucked into the Devonshire shores. The cove itself is beautiful, with crystal clear water, little streams and rockpools that pepper the beach and lots of big boulders for climbing. It's safe as there's very little current and there are usually lifeguards in the summer months and if you get tired of paddling then there's a lovely little gallery where you can enjoy art produced by locals.

The bit of Brighton Beach that extends down to Hove is a an oddly serene oasis compared to the main bit of the beach by Brighton town centre. Not many tourist stray down that far, there's a mixture of sandy and pebbled sections and the main draw is it's a lot quieter. Lovely for a dip in the summer and the major key is to position yourself inbetween Marrocco's (a fantastic Italian restaurant where the go to order is a Frittura Mista - a HUGE and delivious box of seafood and chips) and the Brass Monkey's Ice Cream cart (often positioned on Courtney Terrace on the beach front where the beach huts are).

The cutest little cove in the world with a bit of a swashbuckling vibe from the smugglers caves that are dotted about.  It's got a lovely sandy beach, which is really quiet as it's tucked away from any roads or hustle and bustle and there's even a botanical garden nearby if you're visiting with friends who are less keen on beach activities. So I had to double take at pictures of this beach when I was looking ahead of my visit, because it genuinely looks like a beach I love in Trinidad. This was a lovely little discovery on a camping holiday to Osmington Mills in Weymouth. The beach is sandy and pebbly, but the best thing about it is the water is super clear and it's pretty shallow for quite a distance offshore, which was great for the members of our group who were anxious about deeper water. Really great facility to have in the heart of Hackney borough. I love going here for a cold water swim all year round. There's nothing quite like it in the rest of London and there's something really liberating about having access to cool water and open horizon against the city skyline. This one is for all my people after a boujie weekend. Floating around in these beautiful heated pools, overlooking the rooftops of Bath city is such a treat, especially at sunset. There's also an indoor pool if you don't fancy the one on the roof. And if you plan your trip, you can head down to the Roman Baths to contrast your modern experience of the water with a guided tour to find out how the Romans enjoyed the water too! Ok hear me out, this pool is small and kind of spenny because you only get access when you book a room in the hotel, but the view from this pool is amazing. It's 52 floors up and you can see all of London. This is definitely one to consider as a birthday, valentines, palentines or anniversary experience. This spa is so decadent, there are six pools and each has a different kind of vide. There's one set up on the roof, another which is more of a kid's pool with a rockpool kind of vibe, but my favourite one is the one set slightly aside from the hall in the grounds as it has more of a holiday abroad kind of vibe. I think this is the only hotel pool I've been to in the UK that has a stunning coastal view. The pool is heated, so you can enjoy it even when the weather is chilly, but the best thing is definitely being able to look down onto Saundersfoot Beach. You've probably seen this pool popping up on your timeline or on the news, it made a big place when it opened. It's a bizarre experience being able to swim with the London skyline all around you and the streets visible below. Definitely worth experiencing at least once, if you can get in. It's worth noting that the pool has also been quite controversial, gaining a reputation for being super exclusive and expensive to maintain. So I came across this beach on TikTok and it did not disappoint. Firstly, it's huge and it's a gorgeous sandy beach which is a nice change as so many of the beaches in the UK are stony and painful to walk on. At sunset on a hot day I think this is literally the closest you can get to the Caribbean in the south west. This medieval fish pond is the perfect place for a dip in the summer set in the middle of beautiful heathland. Really cute little beach lined with beach huts. You can do some really lovely walks along the coast and then take a dip after. Just watch out as there are warnings around of landslides and coastal erosion, so just don't get too close to the cliffside. Crystal clear turquoise water, white sand and a dramatic cliff-face as a backdrop. It's giving the holiday feel of the Caribbean with the drama of the British coastline. Also has a claim to fame, having starred in the series Poldark. You need to check tide times before you go though otherwise you'll risk getting stuck, it takes a hike down a pretty steep cliff 'path' to get there, so trainers and backpacks are advisable, and finally it's an unofficial nudist beach, so you can let it all hang out if you want to! This beach is really special as it's home to one of the UK's most spectacular natural landmarks, a massive arch formed naturally in the limestone that jutts out in front of the beach. The beach itself is a mixture of pebbles and shingle and you access it by a somewhat perilous winding staircase, but it's worth the effort. Good for a paddle and maybe a quick swim on a clear day when the waters in the cove are calm, just be wary of the rocks beneath the surface. A lovely place to visit for the day, just a short journey out of London. Lee Valley Park a tangle of rivers and lakes, so it's a great place to take a picnic and sit by the water. You can rent little boats or pedalos at Lee Valley Boat Centre and go sailing. Not one for swimming as the water quality isn't fantastic and also I think the park advises against it because it would disturb the wildlife, but you can dip your toes in to cool off on a hot day. Hyper local spot in Penzance for accessible sea swimming, drop off the rocks or step down the natural granite into cool, clear water. Enclosed in the bay, this spot is tucked behind the Jubilee Pool Lido in Penzance. The marked Buoys to swim to and around make this a ritualistic swimming spot, frequented by locals on their daily swim. It's also a friendly, sheltered place to hang out. Amazing place for a wild swim, surrounded by beautiful park land and wildlife that really comes to life in the summer. Super cold water which is lovely to swim in on a hot summer day. The woodlands at Rydal Hall are like something out of a children's fairytale. There are wild ponds which have been cultivated by volunteers to increase the wildlife. Rydal beck weaves its way around the grounds, but the best part is the waterfall which you can view through the Grot. A beautiful section of Loch Lomond with a sandy shore which makes accessing the water quite easy compared to other spots around the loch where there are only slippery rocks. The beach here is a lovely, clean, sandy beach and you can swim with the view of the chalk cliffs which are stunning. Such a conveniently located sandy beach with nice walking trails and a promenade. Also really close to lots of lovely restaurants and cafes so you can have a nice lunch with a lot more options than just fish and chips. Stunning white sandy beach fringed with grassy dunes that provide epic views of the beautifully clear turquoise water, not to be confused with its sister beach on the Isle of Barra, though both are equally beautiful. Fun fact this beach is also used as a small aircraft runway at low tide, so also worth checking if anything is due to land as it's quite exciting to go and watch the planes coming down. There are plenty of beaches and bays spread across these two Hebridean islands. Though the average temperatures on these islands doesn't really go above 16 degreed, the white sand and crystal clear waters on these two islands' beaches would make you think they're in Spain or Italy. These islands are quite remote so the beaches are incredibly peaceful and surrounded by phenomenal landscapes and wildlife. This place is out near my studio, so we hit it the most. Be prepared, it gets very rowdy! The dancers are amazingly strong, completely nude and lovely to talk to. Don’t forget, tip every song-- $2 bills only! Throw down more and the show is yours.
