Beirut Art Fair
The Beirut Art Fair is a lively display of contemporary art in Lebanon, providing a platform for artists from the Middle East and North Africa to reach local, diasporic and global visitors.
Founded in 2010, the fair is now in full swing despite the country it calls home having gone through the 2020 Beirut port explosion. This event led the fair to reaffirm and expand its commitment to the discovery of the contemporary scene of the Middle East, Gulf and Maghreb countries, by offering the MENART FAIR – aka the Middle East, North Africa Art Fair – in Paris).
The Beirut edition, meanwhile, celebrates Lebanon as an artistic hub for the region, with a history of revelatory and revolutionary art – an undertaking that is particularly important given the impact of the port explosion and Palestinian genocide on Lebanon’s culture and tourism industries.
Choosing to travel to Lebanon for the art fair provides the perfect opportunity to dive into the local cultural scene. Plus, visitors in September will avoid the heat of July and August.
Beirut Art Fair is one of the finalists for Trippin 50, a cultural calendar featuring the best events around the world. Check out the Trippin 50 hub here.
