Great summer spot, which has finally opened this summer. The outdoor area is super cute, there’s space to seat, have a delicious bite and drink and then go in front and have a dance to some of the most excellent DJ's from around the world. I closed the opening day and it was so much fun.

Have discovered this second-hand market recently and it’s a gem. Located in the heart of the vibrant Nørrebro area the market. The vision of organisers to put an end of the awful consumerism mindset of buying mindlessly and never recycling. Everyone can book a stand and the place offers fantastic vegan friendly food trucks too. Many of the sellers are participating exclusively for charity purposes, which makes the experience of shopping way more meaningful.

If you are looking for a rare and more luxurious end of second hand, Lidkøb Østerbro is the one. Danes are stylish people and have accumulated loads of beautiful items throughout the decades. Here’s the place to shop them. A bit pricey but I’ve never left this place without finding something extremely pretty there.

My fav spot to wind down and chill. This side of the lakes isn’t overly used but it has the most calming and peaceful effect.

If you look for more advanced and sophisticated Ruby is the place to visit. Centrally placed and has an amazing dark wooden interior inside. definitely ask for "One In, One Out" when there. The menu changes frequently.

Doc Club and Pub

They sell Isaan food, which is north eastern cuisine that’s often seen as homey comfort food, but the owner of the restaurant has made it chic and elevated. They use local ingredients and support people from the north east. A really cool space, sometimes they have DJs—or Mo Lam performers doing traditional folk song. It’s a little fancy, but a good place to try, really authentic.

This is at a venue called Warehouse, they bring good DJs, good vibes and the location is in an old factory.

A favourite meander on a Saturday morning is through here, a coffee at Arabica, some cauliflower and peas from Gujarati Rasoi, then via Columbia Road down to Shoreditch.

While it doesn’t look like all the new trendy coffee shops – it is Greek originally – there is the quality of the coffee (and the nuts); but more importantly, the vibe and the sense of community is amazing. You wouldn’t think of Knightsbridge that way but it totally has a magic, it’s exactly what you want from the place you go all the time.

Our top brunch spot [with] the pianist Xavier playing pop, a steak tartare and frites and a (very) spicy Bloody Mary. Always sit at the bar.

Every Friday, our Nana would fry fish but in matzo meal. I’m still not sure how this came about historically, but that’s how I have it always and for me, this is one of the very best in London, hidden away near King's Cross in Bloomsbury. [Order] cod or haddock and chips, of course, and lots of vinegar!

There is an obvious disclaimer but the truth is we eat there all the time, never am not in the mood.

Chill cafe/bar tucked away in Eulji-ro that is run simultaneously by the owner of vinyl shop Clique Records. Great high balls, wine, cheese and music.

The Edge

Hotel in the heart of Hongdae that boasts it's connection with the subculture. Grilled cheese at Tartine is one of the best and you can grab a drink at Side Note Club on their terrace.

RYSE

A cafe/bar situated on the top floor of the showroom and shop of brand AJOBYAJO - at first it’s intimidating but just walk up the stairs to the 4th floor. Offers a zen-like vibe with Buddhist statues and an aquarium with white carp as their bar table. Their tea/coffee usually comes with traditional dried persimmons.

Located in the Hannam-dong neighborhood of Itaewon, Warped is a streetwear based clothing store where local creatives go to just chill.

Tucked downstairs in the Hoxton Hotel, this cocktail lounge has quickly become my Friday night go-to. Super intimate with live music Wednesday through Sunday—it feels like a hidden gem.

Lazy Bird

Hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. The soul food here is unreal. I always go for the mac and cheese, cornbread, and blackened catfish—life-changing combo. Beyond the food, the space has become a hub for creatives. There’s a powerful Dawoud Bey photograph on the wall, beautiful paintings throughout, and the music always sets the right vibe.

Virtue Restaurant

A cozy cocktail and record lounge that feels like home. Every first Wednesday they host a jazz night, and on Tuesdays you can bring your own vinyl to play. One of the wildest nights there was when Anderson .Paak randomly showed up and DJed the entire night.

My favourite gallery in Chicago, no question. I make it a point to attend every exhibition they put on. The team cares deeply about the artists they represent, and you can feel that love in every show.

The neighborhood itself carries so much history—it was once called the Black Renaissance neighbourhood, home to writers, photographers, and musicians. The food and drinks are amazing, and on certain nights they bring in DJs who spin soul, house, and jazz. I go there just to relax and vibe.

City Daze

Start at Alexandra Palace and enjoy the incredible views over London. Then, head towards Highgate Woods. Peaceful and green, full of tall trees and little clearings perfect for sitting down, taking a breath and soaking it all in. You feel a world away from the hustle. If you want to continue, Queen Woods is right next door and is home to one of the loveliest woodland cafe’s around.

Bushy Park is a beautiful alternative to Richmond Park for those who want to wander through wide open spaces, tall grass, roaming deer, listen to the sound of woodpeckers and stare at big skies. There are lots of hidden trails taking you through pockets of woodland, streams and ponds making for a lovely adventure. The perfect recipe for regulating your nervous system and inspiring creativity. While it’s a little bit further out than the rest of the routes, you can still get there by bus from central London. 

Bushy Park

While Hampstead Heath holds the limelight and rightly so, Golders Hill Park and the Hill Garden & Pergola offer a quieter, lesser known alternative. This route winds through beautiful gardens, ponds, shaded woodland paths, and leads you to the Pergola - a raised, ivy-covered walkway with crumbling stone columns and gorgeous views over the flowers below. Golders Hill itself is full of surprises - there’s a deer enclosure and a small aviary where you can spot owls among other birds. It’s a calm, open space with ponds, a café, and plenty of benches to pause on. If you’re looking for the beauty of the Heath without the crowds, this is definitely a detour worth taking.

Start in the bustle of the market and head towards Mare Street and King Edwards Road. After a short stretch, the path opens into Victoria Park where you can have a wander among the tree-lined paths or cut across the open fields. From there, the route dips onto the canal and winds through more industrial surroundings past old warehouses, murals, and the echoes of raves gone by before reaching Hackney Wick. A walk that mixes calm and character with plenty of chances to stop and take in the surroundings.

Hackney is where it all started for us! This is where City Daze was born and where we (Rose and Zoe) became friends, psychologists and walking guides. Start from Walthamstow Wetlands and head down towards the Marshes - both mystical in their own right. Tucked in East London, the Marshes stretch wide with wild paths and pockets of stillness that make the city feel miles away. There are hidden corners everywhere, from open fields to secret woodland trails, but the area around the Middlesex Filter Beds is our go to. 

Pack refreshments as you’ll likely get lost in the marshes' charm and lose track of time. 

Walthamstow Wetlands → Hackney Marshes 

If you’re looking for a mix of history, green space and classic views, the route from Cutty Sark to Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory is a must. Head off from the Cutty Sark Ship and walk uphill into Greenwich Park for the most beautiful London skyline and the chance to visit the Royal Observatory and Prime meridian line. 

It’s a lovely route that blends a day out in the city with the vast open space you’d typically get in the countryside.

The Three Brockley Peaks is a loop linking Hilly Fields, Blythe Hill, and One Tree Hill - three underrated high points in South London with some of the best panoramic views across the city. It’s a walk that takes you through green pockets, woodland paths, and open skies, showing just how much nature South East has to offer. Perfect for golden hour or a slow Sunday reset.

Battersea Park is a green gem right by the Thames, perfect for a walk and talk meet up. It’s got everything: wide open lawns, water, woodland trails, and a cool sculpture garden. We’d recommend heading down Terrace Walk towards the London Peace Pergoda for the views. You’ll spot swans, squirrels, and plenty of locals out for a stroll or picnic. 

Battersea Park 

If you find yourself overwhelmed in central London and looking for a beautiful park to unwind, within a few minutes you can be among flowers, wildlife and history. The Green Park & St James Park circular is the one. Tucked behind Buckingham Palace this route offers a breather in the heart of the city. Pause by the water or watch the Pelicans roam around before heading back into the charming chaos of the city.

Order the strawberry daiquiri and the banana daiquiri. I used to go here after dinner and order non-alcohol daiquiris. The cup [comes] covered with cocoa powder; feels like dessert to me. Alcohol [may be even] better, I bet.

Located in Mong Kok just a few minutes on foot from the Prince Edward MTR station, the flower market is one of the most colourful places in Hong Kong. It is adjacent to the Yuen Po Street Bird Garden.

The location is at Mongkok. It's a very popular area and if you’re tourists you must go. This is the one and only special cafe. The orange colour is for the main decor, inside [it's] full of graffiti by HK's famous graffiti artist “Uncle,” and the burger is very delicious.

FM Belowground radio station powered by YEITOUT. They always have guest DJs doing recordings or podcasts in there, and the ASTERISK retail shop has got all kinds of stuff to shop. Sometimes, belowground have a unique pop-up store.

I love to go to museums, especially by myself. Perez is one of my favourite museums to go to as they centre a lot of modern and contemporary art of the 20th/21st century. They have one of the best exhibitions and events in my opinion. I get a lot of inspiration here. The location is just perfect to go and then have a walk or picnic around it after with an ocean view.

If you know me you know I love my fritanga. Located in Little Havana, it’s one of my favourite places to get carne asada, queso frito, and gallo pinto con maduro. Overall best food and it’s open 24 hours. If anyone’s got you for a midnight meal after a party it’s Pinolandia.

Another amazing spot to go eat at for some good soul food with an amazing ambience. One of the best Haitian/Caribbean spots in Miami located in Little Haiti has all your favourites, from vegan to meats and seafood. Come here for the best curry goat and jerk chicken to feed the heart with juicy love.

The best queer underground party dedicated to the Black Caribbean diaspora, created by a brother of mine Akia aka Pressure Point. They now have a radio station y’all should go check out if you wanna be at the forefront of what the freshest sounds of the Miami underground is listening to!
