Emerald Rose Lewis

Presenter and Drive Time Rinse FM DJ, Emerald is one of the hardest on the decks when it comes to setting the vibe for any event. Growing up with a DJ father in the 70s and 80s, Emerald admits to sneaking into her dad’s record collection after school to play the latest reggae, dub and hip hop tracks. More recently she’s been on-stage with M.I.A. offering up the beats to her music at events of Burberry and onstage at festivals. Where it's at in the summer. BBQs, basketball, music, mates, beers, all of that.

Many different walks of life in this spot - skateboarders, NTS radio station, Vortex Jazz club, Ethiopian food, etc.

Incredible brutalist architecture, feels like a dystopian land. Great to take pics in and around, great exhibitions in the art gallery.

Bigger and more relaxed than London Fields. Beautiful, huge park and gorgeous all year round.

Indoor and outdoor market with lovely lunch spots.

A proper market, fresh produce, cheap and proper.

Another gorgeous East London park, this one's got deer!

One of my favourite clubs ever. It's 5 stories. Go to the soul train night, it's the best.

London Lace Club

are bringing lace-making back from the brink of extinction, hosting community sessions that use lace as a vehicle for in-real-life connection. In an ever-busy world, lacework is re-emerging as a form of mindfulness, a way to detox from screens, slow down, and reconnect with process, patience and creativity.

Here the club share their go-to spots in London to unwind, relax, switch off and—of course—make lace, across the city. 


A user-funded grassroots community arts space in Kentish Town. They host a range of workshops, events and exhibitions centred around art, poetry and social change. Find us here every other Sunday for our lace making afternoons.

Our favourite local pub! It overlooks the river Lea; a great place to sit outside and make lace while watching the birds and the boats go by. 

A beautiful community garden tucked away in Hackney Central. Open to the public; they host workshops on growing food, woodwork, climate justice, natural dying and arts and crafts, it’s also just a peaceful place to hang out. We go here in the summer months for al fresco lace making sessions. 

This is a newly established exhibition space and cocktail bar, focused on supporting emerging artists. Based in Islington, they have a packed calendar of artist-run workshops, talks and events. They serve cheap drinks in a lovely atmosphere; we sometimes run beginner-friendly workshops in the evenings. 

This wonderful park is where we dreamt up the London Lace Club two years ago, while sitting in the sun. We love to come here and find a peaceful bench to sit and craft in the sunnier months.
