Design Indaba

Design Indaba, located in Cape Town, serves as a catalyst for a brighter future by spotlighting global innovative design and creativity.
As an influential global institution and an online platform sharing the same name, Design Indaba has overseen the annual festival since 1995. Committed to the idea of "a better world through creativity," Design Indaba has curated a diverse programme of events and speakers over the years, featuring renowned figures such as Thomas Heatherwick, Hannah Barry, Edel Rodriguez, Tony Brook and Tea Uglow.
Its most recent edition featured the Sea Walls project, made up of 14 colourful murals that were painted across Cape Town; it brought awareness to the topic of ocean conservation to Design Indaba’s wide audience. Beyond hosting internationally acclaimed talent, the event offers attendees the opportunity to delve into the multifaceted and rich culture of South Africa’s legislative capital, as well as its thriving creative scene.
