The Lionesses brought it home again this summer - rocketing London’s already bustling women’s football scene to even greater heights.

The victory of professional women’s team owes its success to the support, passion and strength of the grassroots queer sport communities, with groups like Baller Friends Collective organising inclusive and welcoming watch parties and events dedicated to women sports.

“Women’s football in London is booming – from grassroots 5 a-side, to lower league football, fan watch parties and WSL,” says Rachel, who founded Baller FC in 2022.

If you’re in London and looking to experiencing the city’s thriving, queer-led football scene, check out the Baller FC’s guide below.

Clubs United

Clubs United is an inclusive league. They run regular 10-12 week long seasons and it’s a friendly, welcoming community who make football really accessible whether you’re new to the game or a more experienced player.
