M1llionz Takes us on a Tour of Birmingham
M1llionz is a Birmingham born-and-bred Drill rapper who was launched into the limelight with his breakthrough hit ‘North-West’. His musical success hasn’t stopped there and he’s recently released his first full body of work, a debut album Provisional Licence with features from AJ Tracey and Headie One.
Handsworth, where M1llionz was born and raised is a Caribbean hub of culture and is home to one of the largest communities of Jamaican migrants. Situated in Birmingham, Britain’s most diverse city, the suburb has produced the likes of Steel Pulse, Benjamin Zephaniah and god-father of Black British photography, Vanley Burke. It boasts a rich history and easily-felt presence in the British cultural scene, something which M1llionz is only continuing to expand.
Alongside other musicians from the Midlands, like Pa Salieu and Mist who are propelling these sounds to the forefront of the musical scene. Below, M1llionz will be sharing with us his long-standing favourite spots in his beloved Brum and giving us a personal insight into Handsworth and its community.
