Eyedress Takes Us Trippin in Manila
Eyedress Takes Us Trippin in Manila
Eyedress is the nom de plume of Filipino Idris Vicuña. Born in Quezon City, Metro Manila Eyedress relocated with his family to the United States at the age of five and was raised in Arizona before moving to California at the age of 13, where he discovered music, playing bass in a crass-influenced crust punk band.
Initially the bassist of Manila's psychedelic indie/noise pop band Bee Eyes, Vicuña learned how to program hip-hop beats in his downtime from Bee Eyes and started working on the solo project that would eventually become Eyedress. Now the first Filipino musician from Manila to be signed to a major label in the UK, there is no doubt Eyedress switched the game up for Filipino artists. Check out his best spots to Manila below.
